sun salutations and 12 basic asanas and their variations. It's a sequence carefully compiled by founder
Swami Vishnu Devananda. You will learn why one posture is followed by another,

Workshops
Introduction to Meditation, 12 & 19 February, Sunday 11.30am to 1.00pm

Yoga isn't just about the physical postures. The postures or what we call asanas, are but one step towards the higher goal which is meditation. Still body, still mind. Learn how to use the asanas in Hatha yoga to tap into the well of inner stillness, that is the fountain of bliss.

Many of us are overwhelmed by the complexity of our lives.
Because of that complexity, many seek to escape the pain and
pressure through a variety of means .... The tradition of spiritual
thought called Vedanta advises us not escape from life but.. to maintain
a high quality of life through intelligent understanding
of the true nature of existence. - Meditation and Life

In this course, we start with the fundamentals of stilling the mind.
Learn how to prepare the body for the practice of concentration with
some basic asanas and pranayama. Also learn the sitting techniques so that
you don't strain the body or obstruct the flow of energy during your practice.

Meditation is a time to connect with the higher self, as well as a time to master our inner life.
It is the goal of yoga.

Who should attend:
All levels of students

Workshop meeting dates:
February 12 & 19. Sunday 11.30am to 1.00pm
